Sustainability
Consulting
InRegion
aims to help community organizations,
non-profits and foundations develop and launch programs and enterprises
that
resolve community and environmental problems by utilizing systems
thinking,
partnership- and coalition-building, demand-driven strategies, and most
importantly, by engaging and empowering people.
Making
Sustainability
Work For
You
InRegion
Sustainability Consulting is a firm
specializing in using the concepts and framework of sustainability to
find
solutions to complex problems that can have a positive impact on people
in
marginalized communities, as well as the local, regional and global
environment. Our practice is unique because of our central focus on
people and
human capital as the driver for change, where many firms might see
people as
being an obstacle.
Social Enterprise,
Community Benefit
InRegion wants to help
you and your community to benefit
from businesses and enterprises that fulfill needs of community members
and
provide jobs and new skills training to residents, while also solving
important
larger regional or national issues. Together, we can foster enterprises
that rally
community anchors and residents, and develop symbiotic relationships
where the
community and the enterprise need each other. Well-conceived and
managed
enterprises can stay around long after grants and government subsidies
are
gone, provided the community members truly demand the business’
offerings and are
given avenues for supporting the business over the long term.
Where There is Excess,
There is Opportunity
We can work with you to identify any excess you make have in your
business, organization, or community. Excess equals lost investment,
but it also is a great opportunity to find new uses that may have some
social, environmental or community benefit. Examples of excesses are:
energy; water; waste; building space; equipment; staff time; vehicles;
or, other specialized resources or byproducts. We can help to connect
you with individuals or groups, build relationships,
and establish formal structures that can make better use of what may be
considered excess to you.
